I put new CV boots on the 93EV a year ago and today I saw the outer boots were cracked already with 8500mi. The OG ones lasted 12 years and looked better than the 12 month ones. Embarassed

They should have been good ones but where would you get really good ones that would really last Laughing

Well at least the shop said they would buy the new boots and split the labor in half. Thats pretty good!! I will just have to keep an eye on them at about 10 months and come in on warrenty.

Last time I had to wait for about a month while they found a shop tool to hold the wheels up when they released it. Any pics of this tool??

This is common in bay windows and vanagons when you use cheap CV joints or boots.
Try to buy only german made parts, most mechanics aren't going to seach out good parts for you, they put on what there wholesaler sells them.
Unfortunatly most shops don't want to use parts provided by the owner,
most make money off parts to.

I don't know if this will fit your van, but they are supposed to hold up a lot better. Might want to call them. http://www.germansupply.com/home/customer/product.php?productid=16640&cat=354&page=1
