Im looking to buy a 64-70 Ghia.. are there any web sites out there that give basic points to look for when lookign at one... typical rust points etc

www.thebugshop.org Click the tech link and read the "What To Look For" article. He refers to Bugs, but the same applies for Ghias.

I've owned several ghias and this is what I've ran into and have learned to look for regarding rust. You want to pay special attention to the headlight buckets, the front inner fender wells behind the tire and in front of the door. There should be a cover plate there but it is usually missing and if it is there is usually rust damage. The other areas are the rear lower quarter panels where you would expect water to kick up from the rear tires, under the battery, the usual pan areas and don't forget to check the bottom of the doors. That's a good overall checklist.

rstewart.. thanks a lot...

Ive noticed, that even here in California, those on sale seem to be prone to rust.. and once its in its a lot of work top get rid of it...
