I wonder if my dad would let me borrow his Thing for the show. My wife and I really enjoyed the 2004 T-3 Invasion. Otherwise, I'd have to take the Notch again. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I should have piped up sooner. I'd love to go, but would not be able to commit at this time. But I would give it some serious consideration. |

Better let Brian know, they're planning 08 as we speak. Currently they're looking at the mid west though, and they've got feelers out for 3 different spots. I'd love to go to Hershey again, it was beautiful, laid back and we had a great time (and we never did make the factory tour). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I've been talking to Brian...yea, I was just kinda kidding about T3's in 2007.
2007 will be an air cooled specialty show....if it is not Things...we'll do something else.
2008 will go back to a water cooled specialty.
This post was to feel out the Thing crowd. Hershey is a great vacation spot...there is a lot to do.
I understand the NC Treffen is no longer...we're here to give Thing folks a special weekend... |

I was in Hershey area 7 years ago and had a great time in that area.
If you have the event the 2nd week of july, I might be able to make that
My wife and I are going to maine for the 4th, and we are driving our thing there. We could go through Hershey on our way back |

It's cool, hope we didn't mess up your schedual too much (having an air cooled event in an even year). I wouldn't mind attending a Thing show (if my dad will let me borrow his Thing), besides, it needs some more miles put on it since my son and I rebuilt it for him. He might have thrown some dollars at it, but I know I put some blood and sweat (along with some long nights) into it. We literally rebuilt it in 4 1/2 months, floors, wiring, rusty sheet metal, brakes, engine, top and top frame, fuel system, paint (inside and out), etc. Heck, I wouldn't mind taking the Notch out on another all day run to Hershey for HAVOC general air cooled show. If it's going to be the 1st weekend in August, I should be able to attend (doing a road trip out west to get another project in June (don't know when yet). Plus my Uncle wants me to go to Stamford, and pick up his old Rabbit (for my son), so that would make a nice side trip. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Well...stay tuned for the development of this event. Dates and theme will be finalized in Feb.
It will be listed on the events schedule.
Volksfest, our annual VW show, will be held in 2007 on the last Saturday of April. Could be the last one at the Campbelltown venue.
If anyone has any questions...feel free to contact me!

Sorry, I meant that Brian and co. were working on a mid west location for a t-3 Invasion (MI, WI, IA), not a Thing show. Although, I think you're also a member over there? _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

It was voted at the last HAVOC meeting that this event will not happen.
Initial response was low...and we don't want to comepte with KTE.
thanks
