On the 2 photos that WERE posted correctly, I found myself still looking at them sideways. Nice car....should of spent more time on the ad. I'd say $3500-4k would be a good deal. Diamond Green original color from the looks of the dash and jambs. Not on the exterior though.... |

What does that even mean? |
I wondered the same, but it's in the whine section, so it probably has something to do with being overpriced lol. |
The seller is misrepresenting this car as 100% original and asking an inflated price as if it were. He is marketing this car with a dishonest statement. I guess if your going to lie you might as well lie "bigly".
Things that are obviously not original:
engine
hub caps
hood crest
seat upholstery
door cards
rear apron
rear deck lid spring
later model dash grab handle and who knows what else not visible in these photos |
It sounds like he is saying it's original paint too?
I don't think that is true but is it even Reed Green?

Must be one of those "post truth" "alternative facts" Samba ads. |
You guys really love to belly ache. There are reasons behind everything and assuming the worse EVERY TIME is just as bad as what you guys are accusing others of doing. How about checking with the seller first and then AFTER talking with him/her, get off your high horse and get a little perspective of the situation. If it is a scam, then warming everybody is a good thing but if it was just an error because the person was told it was all original and didn't have time to check it properly, then it is just an honest mistake and can be corrected AS IT WAS IN THIS SITUATION. _________________ Vintage VW lover |

I'm diggin' the hood badge integrated into the seats.
And that wheel/centre cap combo. Very cool. _________________ sent from a phone using poor grammar and spelling |

Agreed on the wheel/center cap combo. Love the color, stance, the whole thing.
Actually, the whole car is exactly a way I would (have) set it up if II had any sort of imagination. haha |

What should be in the description is, "Complete restoration professionally done, with the cheapest parts available." I wonder if the taillights could be mounted any higher?

One of my biggest peeves taillights mounted to high, it can make or break a car for me. |
It's always a sign that it has the wrong rear fenders. It just makes the car worth less to me, because originals are super hard to find, and they're not cheap if you do find them. It's amazing how people think that back window automatically makes their car worth $15-20k, regardless of the condition. I know you can find them for less sometimes, but you'll be into them for $20k or more to get them where you want them. |

Why does it look so ........ off?
The wheels? Some kinda fish-eye lens?
And why does the VIN say '58? _________________ sent from a phone using poor grammar and spelling |

"Done to original specs", but it has crappy aftermarket bumpers. It would be nice to see a car done right if someone is going to throw a huge price tag on it.

I think this car may have been at the Manassas bug out maybe 8 years ago. Showed very well very nice paint but again with the tail lights (something that happened often in the day) and the bumpers. My problem - a fresh professional resto price for something done 20 years ago. |

Exactly, I'm sure the car looks decent, but not $30k+ decent. If you found a solid car for a decent price, you could restore it correctly for less than this guys asking price. |
