I'd hate to check the fluid level in one of those. |

I have never seen this before, is it an upgrade for the breaks? It is dual circuit MC so what is it for? _________________ Looking for a 2004 vw sedan Ultima Edition |

That's only a reservoir for a dual circuit master cylinder. Up to '66, Beetles only had single circuit brake systems. If you lost one wheel cylinder, you essentially lost your whole brake system. In '67 they upgraded to a dual circuit system (front brakes are one circuit, rear are the other), so that if something went wrong on one end, the other end could get you stopped.
You can upgrade an older bug to dual circuit, and this is just a reservoir that will mount on top of the mc to hold the fluid. |

It's got to be a line lock. Contact the person with the ad? Bet he knows. _________________ A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Wow...that was fun!"

Ok - yeah, that's probably a line lock. Looks like some wires running to a solenoid there on the backside of it. |

Little black thing is a proportioning valve, shiny thing is a line lock, blue thing is a residual valve. _________________ '67 Sunroof

This sentence from the ad just makes me chuckle:

The black piece with the knob is a Wilwood brake proportioning valve.
It reduces the amout of fluid sent to the rear wheels
The blue part installed into it is a check valve
It slows return fliud to the MC
The part on the firewall is the line lock solenoid mounted into the line that tees into the two front brakes.
