|
|
I tried the search and came up with nothing so I'll ask.
My pedal came unatached from the floor at the hinge, it's pretty rusty and can't tell what it was suposed to look like. Is there just a pin/bolt that secures the pedal to the part on the floor ?
How can I fix this ? |

| A pin fits in the hinge. The pin came partly out of the pedal hinge in my 1957 bus, a few times, over the years, and I finally put a little piece of duct tape at each end of the hinge. There is something that holds the pin in the hinge but I forgot what it is. |

| There is a piece of spring steel that bears on the recessed area in the center of the hinge pin and keeps it from moving laterally. |

depends on how picky you are i guess.
mine rusted off before i got the westy,
p.o. just used a hardware store hinge screwed in ... it didn't last.
i did the same thing but bolted it in.

I need to replace that little spring piece... how goes that? Pop the pin out, remove pedal, stick the spring in, replace pedal, replace pin? _________________ Michael P.

| Thanks for the replies, I'm not to picky just want it to work. That pin must of rusted right off on mine because part of it is still on the pedal. I do have another pedal I was going to use in my t-bucket that hinges to the floor, might take a look at that one too. |

Thread hijack alert!
I was wondering if a roller pedal might be more comfortable for a 6' 5" driver...
And if a chrome one might add a few MPH... _________________ © CJ Industries, Inc.

| The pins are narrower in the center and, once, I saw a pin that had rusted clear through in the center portion. |

| That picture of the backside of the pedal looks like the l shaped bracket is held in place by the bracket that bolts to the floor and trapped by the pin. |
