I'm working on putting together pair of headlight assemblies for my son's '63 SC out of a box of misc headlight bits and pieces and I just was having the darndest time coming up with the right combination.

Had a bunch of Beetle stuff in there too, anyway, what is the correct adjust screw postion for a '63? I came up with one where the holes are at 10 and 4 o'clock when mounted on the SC and the other one is at 2 and 4 o'clock. The 2 & 4 is right next to the headlight assembly to body mount screw. Looks kinda funny right now, with the two differnt style on there.

Thanks

My '63 has the adjustment screws above and below the mounting screw.

They are the original headlights as far as I know (very good chance).

Surprisingly, they also have the "E" logo headlight lenses, which I had though ended before 1963.

Thanks Ev. I am just suprised at how many combinations of headlight assemblies are out there. On my '66 Deluxe, they are at 4 and 8 o'clock, and they sure look like the originals. I know that some of the assemblies have a spring like wire that puts tension on the headlight, while the newer ones have no such wire, and the headlight adjust screws are the only tension on the assembly.

I guess I'm just going to try to make a pair that match and go from there. This is a real interesting tidbit of Bus differences thru the years.

Adjusters are normally on the same side of the bulb near the mounting screw except buses sent to some countries where they were on opposite sides of the bulb
