I think tinted windows can look really bad if not on the right car...

I am interesed to see some pics too. It's so hot here sometimes, I plan on a white roof and visor to help keep cool. And real AC one day.

There are now tints that can cut quite a lot of heat without actually being dark in colour so you could still keep the old school cred.

But black could look good too on some cars.

Personally if the car is stock then no tint; if customed then I'd run tint but not very dark or limo tint, just enough to make it look nice.

Limo tint is the stuff that bugs the cops. They cannot see into the car when walking up to it.

Yep. Not to mention a lot of states regulate how dark tint can be for THAT very reason. I know it was a big deal in Hawai'i and always enforced. Personally, on a new, modern car OK; on an ACVW not so much. JMO.

I tinted the side glass (less the door windows) and the rear window on Sophy. Not super dark....but not the lightest either. I like it. Does seem to help some keeping the interior cool...especially with the black interior.

On my 69 Square, I had limo tint on the rear windows, and nothing on the door glass. It made it a bitch to see out in the dark while backing up, but it was a lot easier on the occupants when going down the road. Those Big SUVs and other 4X4s can really light up the inside the of the car, and the day-night mirror doesn't do much for helping either. I've never noticed this in either the Fastback or the Notch, but with the Square I did.

OK, now this looks good. You can still see into/through the car, which is what I like. I dislike the 100% tints for obvious reasons and would not have them on any car I owned/drove.

This is about 50% all the way around... not too dark, not too light

see now you need some pics with the hub caps back on it...love that look.

Still can't believe how good the smoked lenses came out, brake lights and turn signals still work perfect...tempting but I think its going to be clear turn signals up front and red-red-whites in the back.

I think it all matter what color paint and style you're going for. I completely agree with the stock look, no tint.

However living in las vegas dark tint and wing windows are your only ways to stay cool in the summer...Oh yeah and pools...

See why would you think its ok for a new car? Is that a personal pref or a law inforcement pref?

Heres why I ask-back in the day when I was just a shit-not a professional asshole Wink I had the front one piece smoked glass and double limo tint on the back three-bad ass back then. But I got soooooo much crap from the local Sherrif in Poway where I grew up. That added with the whole lowering thing was a huge PC-probable cause magnet for them. I remember one time being pulled over not a block from home, late on a Saturday night for a rear tail light being out. Well it had been raining and the VW fuse being what it is got a bit coroded from the moisture. So with a simple twist-pop-lights on. No proble right? Nope then we moved onto the height-ok, 6in above legal-next-tint. Thats when my 19 year old ass got miffed when the officer started to scratch on my front door glass with his keys. So he tells me I could get written up for this. I tell him thats the way it came when I got it. But the kicker was when I started to point out new cars next to us at the Honduh dealer with the same-even darker tint! needless to say I didnt get a ticket and was left alone after that. It was like I had to graduate with the right answers Rolling Eyes

Ive not tinted since.
