Need new turn switch for the 70 Square. Is the quality of the new ones good or still better with expensive, hard to find NOS?

Depends. There are new German ones, and new Chinese ones.

I went good used on my wife's car. On it I used the turn signal/wiper switch from a 72, and split the 2 units apart, then used the shorter tubes and screws from the 70 unit to install it. It's been in the car since 2000, and still works just fine.

I’d go with German. It’s a much better made switch.
