I've looked through the list already for any hint of this issue being addressed already... No dice.
I bought a Wolfsburg West wiring harness to replace the OG one. Now that I'm getting close to getting my motor installed I'm getting the wiring harness dialed in.
The issue I'm seeing is the general harness for 1960 to 63 buses is just a little out of spec for my double cab in that the gas tank is located further forward than its placement in a samba or kombi... The brown wire for the tank sending unit spills out of the harness by the transmission instead of closer to the cab where the tank is.
Should I run a new separate wire that will be the right length and funnel out in the right place or split open the harness so the brown wire can be routed up through the chassis and floor to the gas tank in the right spot? What do you all recommend? What is safer, more reliable? What have any Doka folks done in this scenario?
Thanks in advance!
