Okay so the topic sounds a bit funny, How do I tell if I have big nut RGB's or little ones? It is on a 67 bus.

I'm biting my tongue. Embarassed

Pop off the rear hubcap. If the nut holding the drum on is 36mm, then your Bus has small nuts. If it's 46mm, then they're big.

not all 63's would have the higher geared boxes. looks like m-215 would be for 1.26:1, 1-ton; m-216 would be for 1.39:1 ratio boxes. so not all 1500 equiped buses would have them. look to see if you have later brakes on the rear, that should tell you.

not all 63's would have the higher geared boxes. looks like m-215 would be for 1.39 and m-216 would be for 1.26 ratio boxes. so not all 1500 equiped buses would have them. look to see if you have later brakes on the rear, that should tell you.

I dont have either of those M codes. Just M-360 (Blinkers and towelbars) but ill check out the brakes anyway, you know how parts get around Wink

My Dad's '63 had much lower gearing than my '67 and his was a 1500 equipped Bus, still has the og engine in it. I don't remember what brakes it had though

Im assuming that means the option isnt available for passenger buses, since they wouldnt be used for hauling excessively heavy cargo, like the commercial models?

Or, are you thinking there is an alternate meaning for that M-code after Oct '64?

Just noticed my '63 has M-195 (adjustable back for bench seat). Thats pretty meaningless since its a 1/3 2/3 split. Maybe an alternate meaning after the intro of the split bench?

Things seems to get a little shakey in 63 dont they?
