Big box in the basement... new rear bumper for my Thing from the Thing shop. Very, very nice.
It'll match the front nicely. Look for a straight used rear bumper with towing tongue on classifieds soon _________________ '85 Vanagon Westfalia |

Grrr. A pox on previous owners of my things, wherever they may skulk.
It had to have happened a long, long time ago. The immediate PO was a stand up guy, but he probably never tried to remove the rear bumper.
I'm finding sheared bolts, AMERICAN threaded bolts, "fixes" made to last and some real ham bone stupidity. Oh, what's it take to do the job right and use metric bolts? Sigh...
So, it'll take longer than expected, probably mean a few busted knuckles and taps used to remove a ham fisted mistake long ago.
It's always something... _________________ '85 Vanagon Westfalia |

Congrats on your bumpers! Stock ones are on my list as well. My Thing Shop delivery isn't due to arrive till Saturday, and I can't wait. It's been cold and rainy for weeks and with no windows my Thing has been garage queen. I ordered new glass sliders and bags, all the miscellaneous rubber doohickeys I'm missing, and all the stuff to get my oil bath air cleaner going. Merry Christmas to me as well |

Oh....I got my Thing Shop order. I got the dash section for the new tunes. My current glovebox door will be in the classifieds soon.
From CIP I got all new seatbelts front and back, All the rest of the front end parts that I needed, all new lenses, visors, and a crap load of other stuff including the cup/cell phone holder. I just need the time to throw the parts on.
Merry X-Mas to me
I wish I got new bumpers too. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with my sandblasted pair with a bit of work left to do before I can paint them. _________________ "Okay, so there's 6 beers and 5 of us. You know what this means don't you? 4 of you are going to have to leave."

Cool watch, eh? I love mine too.
I tend to wear it to work; I get blank looks from those who don't know, but those who do know what it is smile immediately.
Now back to those @#@! bolts on the bumper. Grrrr. _________________ '85 Vanagon Westfalia |
