on early cars pre 57 I found no bushing on
the shifter tube guide. was the plastic bushing only on later cars? _________________ Life is Good! Have a Nice Day!-don't worry about the jerks out there on the forum, in the end... they fall, and fall hard!

No bushing is correct on Ovals, just the guide plate. _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

Hello-
I replaced the shifter rod bracket in my oval a few weeks ago. There wasn't that much play, so I wasn't sure it was going to be worth the trouble. I'm so glad I did it! I now have much more precise shifting and I can finally downshift. Highly recommended.

I have a 60, and when I had the shift rod out, there was no bushing. Didnt know it was supposed to. I thought that started in the late 60's. Oh well, learn something new everyday. No problems with mine, but maybe I need to find a bushing. _________________ 60 Rock Grey Vert |

I think you have a short cut to that photo and post it at least once a week !!??
Then again, this is one of those questions that comes up over and over and over and over and over and over again.

You can say that again, and again, and again......The shift rod bushing topic can be made into a sticky, it's asked way too often |
