I have a 64 bus and today I was unable to shift into 4th gear. Any ideas before tear into it. BTW shifts fine...R, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

I had same probelm two weeks ago...turned out to be a cracked shift rod…pretty easy to spot and fix. I hope yours turns out to be as simple.

You need to have someone lay under the back where the front of the transaxle is and watch the motion as you try the gears, engine off standing still, of course. The report what you're seeing. Look for full travel forward when you're pulling the stick back for 4th.
