Believe it or not I was at an auction in PA where that car came out of the barn it had been in since 1963, its kind of a bastard as the body, frame and engine numbers dont match, the auctioneer had the Serial number tag and title " inside in an envelope somewhere " and did not make it available prior to the bidding, it had a locked up aluminum '47 engine block and I think a tree had crushed it at one time causing the drivers door to be custom fit to its mangled door frame, in 2001 or so I think it went for $5000 at the auction which I thought was pretty pricey for what it was, lots of goodies are missing like correct taillights, headlights, speedo, ignition switch, the bumpers were super rough and of course all the mismatched numbers, I have been wondering what became of it, I will post some more photos of it from 2001 when I get home tonight, it looks about the same as it did in 2001 as it does in those craigslist pics _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. here it is in the early 2000s fresh out of its barn after the late owners estate auction, the guy also had a 40hp VW engined Bensen Gyrocopter, I bit up to $800 and let someone else try to kill themselves with it!
The split did have a K-manifold on it as i recall and 4 or 5 16'' inch wheels, has some serious non matching numbers problems though, I have a few other pictures somewhere and one of the engine I will post when I find them,
gotta love the antenna mounted to the top of the fender, didn't find a radio anywhere though, empty hole in the dash...
and in craigslist ad:
I see the radio antenna on the fender is still there along with its cable hanging out still...
I can't believe its been sitting around another 8 years, the people who paid $5000 for it thought it was a superbeetle or something, I don't think they had a clue what they were buying _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction.
