Calling all the smart pigs...
All righty then, I've done all the research I can, shopped most of the vendors and I'm ready to plunk down my money.
I need one final little piece of advice please.
I've settled on the 34 PICT-3 carb from CiP-1 (#C-24-113-129-031-K)
Any opinions on this carb on a street sandrail with a 1641?
I've read as much as I can find about the SVDA distributors and it's come down to a choice between CIP1's numbers C-24-043-905-205-ZB for more money, ($189.00) or the VWC-043-905-205 ($109.95)
Whats the difference, besides price? any opinions about suitability for my end use or longevity?
Thanks Paul _________________ If it turns $$$ into smoke and noise, I'm there.

It seems like just the difference between genuine and repro. I'm not sure exactly what VW of Mexico quality is, but I'd assume it's a little better than bruck. Although I might go Bosch over both given the choice.
cb has one:

Here's the link I pulled that from. Its a forum thread with the same question you had I think, but for a bus.

In that same price range you could also get a Petronix with all the electronic ignition built in

I actually just did all the same research you did. I ended up getting the cheapo unit from kaddieshack. The vendor was super cool to deal with, and he warranties all his parts and supplies any tech help you need to get it working. I was okay buying a generic unit from him because he said a guy in his shop used it and is pleased. I just get the feeling he wouldnt sell trash I guess. _________________ "If you had a beer can in your hand the beer would have stopped it, alcohol is a natural force of good that keeps you from getting hurt, unless you're city people...." |

"Bruck of Germany" is made in China.
Get the Bosch, i've installed many of them and never a problem. _________________ Glenn
