For my Zwitter, is this my headlight or wiper switch or none of the above?
I need to get a good book about my car! Thanks

Get the Bentley manual, it covers your car pretty good _________________ 52 crotch cooler

the headlight switch is going to have many many wires going to it, like 5 or so, I have to vote for "none of the above" for that switch in your picture, its clearly got a not very VW like knurled & threaded collar for mounting, most likely an accessory switch for fog lights or something, I'm thinking even on a zwitter the wiper switch was mounted in the conventional manner with a propper smooth collar behind the knob and a screw into the bottom of the dash from a bracket on the switch _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there... |

Yeah, it's an acesory switch - I have a similar one on my car, wired by myself for the fog lights. Even more, even if the ivory button looks like a normal dashboard ivory button - the thread for the ivory button is thinner than the thread on standard dash buttons ( such as headlight switch, found later stock beetles )/ _________________ 1965 Sunroof Beetle

I agree. It's an accessory switch. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

There were 2 terminal (and 3) wiper switches for single speed wipers. I have some of each, NOS, in the bag with VW dealer part numbers. But I agree that it could also be an aftermarket accessory switch. _________________ John Henry
