Trying to start my buggy today, I turned the key and nothing happened. I have a universal ignition switch on it , and when when I turn to the acc. the gauges would move and the lights would come. But this time nothing happened . Completely dead. I thought it might have been the ignition switch that went bad, but I switched it for a new one. Same thing dead. No juice anywhere. I checked all the fuses, all good. The battery is brand new, so I don't think its that! It has a hard start relay that's been on there for awhile and it was working fine. I also checked the ground from the battery to the starter and ground to the frame and on to the tranny side.

So I'm at a loss. Where can I go from here. Every time I fix something on this thing, something else goes hay wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's just an adult version of "connect-the-dots".

Do you have voltage at the battery?
Does that voltage make it all the way up to the "input", or "Batt" terminal at the ignition switch?
When you turn the ignition switch on, does the voltage appear at the "on" terminal?
When you turn the ignition switch to the "start" position, does the voltage make it to the "start" terminal?

Just connect all the dots! Very Happy

slayer61.....Yes there is voltage at the battery. Second question, no voltage to to the input or battery terminal of the ignition switch. Third question, When I turn on the ignition switch, no voltage appears on the "on" terminal. Forth question. When I turn the ignition switch to the "start". position, the voltage does not make it to the "start" terminal......There is no power anywhere. I should mention, I put an epower steering unit in this buggy . Prior to the loss of electrical issue , everything was working fine. The only thing that has power is the ecu of the unit with out tuning the key to the acc. position I used a test light to check this, Nothing else is working thus far......????? Thanks for your response....

There is the problem. You haven't "connected the dots" from the battery to the ignition switch! If you put in a temporary jumper as a test... I bet everything else will fall into place. Idea Very Happy

slayer61....Ok temporary jumper. Please excuse my ignorance, but as I mentioned before, electronics is not my forte.. How do I go about making and using the jumper. This is driving me nut!... And thanks...
