Looks like a solid shell to start with!
I also do hope you've got all the misc bits you're going to need to complete this project!

I've got one on the road, fun to drive and a 2nd in the garage, that one seems to be lagging behind......hmmmm, maybe I should get rid of the road worthy one and that would motivate me to finish the Ghia?!!?! Think

Side Note, Looking at this photo I always notice houses and the general neighborhood that can be seen, I find it interesting how once you get into the burbs of almost any city in any State in almost any Nation, they all look alike! (or very similar) The background in this photo could be Tree less Eastern Oregon, Nevada or any number of the plains States if one were to add some hills to them!

I mean come on.... it's HAWAII !!!!! Towering water falls, endless sandy beaches, palm trees, drinks in empty coconut shells, hula girls, etc. (No, I've never been but isn't that obvious by my comments?)

Yeah, it's nice - I used to live there - but I am still pissed off that two of my bugs were stolen when I lived there. I still miss my '56 ragtop that was stolen in 1986, 2110 cc with straight cut cam gear, 48 IDA's, close ratio trans.... Evil or Very Mad

Wassup guyz, yup got pretty much all the parts from some members here and ordering like a mad dog on the internet
. Well just a little story on the car got this in 2010 sometime in Jan. Been doing an off and on affair with her. weekends here and week days there. Yup she's been taped on the front but all the fender's lined up pretty good with the hood so no biggie Smile .
But story goes a guy needed money got the car came with no trans, no motor. Came with full TMI interior kit, came with chrome window trim adjustable spring plates and a Pro15 pan. Also matching pan and body which sometimes is rare on the islands.

So now its been about a year having her and I've I learned a lot from reading on thesamba and asking question. Slowly putting her together wait till you see the other pictures let me know later thanks.

It was probably 5 years ago that I found out who stole the car, funny thing is my aunt was playing golf with some people and one of the guys said to her that he was the one that did it and how sorry he was, but I guess karma catches up with some as I learned last year he had died.

The car was black and was stolen outside Pearlridge center and from what I heard was spotted in Waianae (of course...)

I have just got back into VW's (bought a very dry '58 last year and have slowly got her back on the road).

But back on topic, cool deal on your car! And keep us posted on your progress!
