I believe the smaller the ET, the deeper the dish on the wheel... ET 10 being the deepest and ET 34 being the shallowest... |

Does anyone have a link to the type of aftermarket lugs that can be used with these? I am currently using stock 12mm but want to use a stud/lug combo.
Thanks for any help! |

^^ should be able to use a ball seat lugnut and whatever size studs (12mm?) fit your drums.
side question: where can you buy these anymore? looks like cip1 dried up. i have a set that im wanting to sell, but im trying to price them right as i dont want them to just sit in the garage. i have the original boxes to ship them in also. _________________ TastyGarage |

I bought longer Mercedes style lug bolts here, but they have quite the variety!

BBT themselves only have 15 x 4.5 ET +25 available, all the others are sold out. _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

I'm not sure BBT is making these anymore...but if they are they should quit!
Or get a better guy to do the finish work. Good thing they were cheap, and seems like they are not easy to find anymore.
But jeebus christmas. I sort of heard how they were not quite perfect, but this is really a joke for a brand new wheel. I don't even want to post a picture of the welds from the front.
Somewhere I wish I would've found the disclaimer that says :
"these wheels will require refinishing and powdercoating "
The paint masking is just hilarious, why did they bother? But the grind marks on the front of the spokes really sucks.
Oh well.

.
Can anyone give me a ballpark on value for a set of vintage BBT Sprint Stars in good condition?
Finally made it out to a (properly social distanced and masked) meet up of local VW folks and got a couple of different people interested in purchasing my wheels, but I have no idea what they might be worth.
Paint is very good, stickers on the hubcaps are so faded I assume these are from the 80's or early 90's.
Many thanks! My '67 came with these on it, and I'm hoping this will help finance putting some wheels I like better on it! |

I didn't think so.
I'm wondering if you have real ones...
Maybe post some pics? |
We're talking about BBT's, not EMPI's. Nobody makes fake BBT's, they ARE the knock offs!
Pics coming.
Pretty sure BBT's have been around that long. |

Looking for more info, but "BBT was founded by Arlette van Dijck and Bob van Heyst during the autumn of 1986. " Lore on this particular car was that it was rebuilt in the late 80's for a dudes wife, and that's where the wheels, paint, and interior choices it's got at the moment date from, which fits.

Yes, that is what I meant - Maybe they are EMPIs as I didn't think you could get BBT sprint stars in the 90s.
It sounds like you found out otherwise? Ok.
I didn't want to you to get screwed on a value estimate if they were real. _________________ How to Post Photos

Everett is correct. The release date for bbt sprints was mid October 2009 according to BBT themselves. The center cap decals on these fade quickly. The chrome version of the BBT's age worse than the decals. Too bad as they did a decent job on the reproduction wheels. Some issues but overall very close to empi's. Someone must have added these to your car after 2010. I think it took a little while before they were sold in the USA. |

I got a set recently from Concept1.ca ; they were the only ones literally anywhere that had any left.
I got the last set they had listed as for ‘Sedan application’ , but they showed a few in stock for Type2 .. whatever the difference is?
I’ve had mine powdercoated finally, and working on maski g and painting the black. Nice wheels once they’re refinished. They’re lighter than the originals, but unless you’re an expert you couldn’t tell the difference overall.
Better than the alloy version obviously if you want them to look right. _________________

Have you been able to find out how much they go for now a days? I have a new set in the box that have never been used or seen the light of day! Would be nice to know? Thanks, Peter |
