Hi all,

I like this bus..because it looks like mine...
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=810950
I reference the above photo..becasue I have not figured out how to post them (pics) here..yet.
I see a lot of variations in how these buses sit from back to front.
I am not really talking about dropped spindles or rim sizes..but if you look at this photo the front sits high..like mine about 1 to 2".
How does one get it down these few inches to sit level with the rear??

LoL @ fat girl.

mick av-8, I dunno about your bus or the one in the pic, but I think half the time its just an illusion. I always felt the same way about mine, and finally one day up and measured it; from ground to the side metal reveal (where the microbus color changes.) Dead level.

I think it appears low in the rear because of the different wheel wells.

But if you are in fact not level, I'm guessing you could up the rear by adjusting the torsion arms? (Someone slap me if that's not the case)

that bus looks stock and yea the front looks high but measured it is level like Polo said, it looks higher because of the bigger wheelwell opening, mine is the same way and I don't like the nose high look either (even though I know it's actually level) so..... install adjusters on the front beam and go down until it looks right to you, it won't take much and you can still run stock size tires.

Yes, you can adjust the spring plates that connect to the rear torsion bars. You'll need to take your engine and transmission out to properly get the spring plates off to adjust them.

You don't need to take the engine and trans out to properly adjust your spring plates. Just unbolt he axles and ebrake cables from the handle and slide the axles back out of he way.

The fat chick solution is looking simpler and simpler... maybe, to make it more enticing, we call it the "two hot chicks" solution?

(Gals welcome to call it the "buff Chippendale guy" solution)

X2! BTDT many times within a couple of hours to "dial it in". However, lowering the front is the best solution albeit not the easiest one. I also like the "rake" look, slightly lower up front than the back. After doing the IRS on the Dormy it ended up being leveled which is okay but it is sitting much higher than I would like it to be. Eventually I intend to lower it some through out but I ain't no slamma-jamma-scrape'O'ramma. Cool

I simply don't care for any goofy looking camber in the back /or the horrible engineering effects\ which is why I would choose to dial in the front as long as the back wheel is pretty much vertical. and yes it will end up with a slight rake measured at the trim or drip rail.

Here is how you do it

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64301&highlight=adjustable+beam

There is also a cool video out there showing how to do it step by step. It is on another website, but I can't recall where it is.
