|
|
So I purchased a couple of pop out windows which at first look was for my 1958 Kombi. When I get them home and try them out they are slightly larger than may pop out openings. 21x16 outside frame. My other windows measure 19 x 14.75 Does anyone know what these would be. Same design as my other popouts, unnamed glass slightly different handle, but same set up? Maybe a year specific thing? Thanks for looking |

Pop outs were the same size across all years. Sure they are bus? How are the handles different?
Maybe post some pics? |

Binz? |
AFAIK, Binz windows didn't pop out, and were much larger, at least as far as Binz DC windows. I don't think they are VW, tho I can see how someone might pull them out of a pile of parts and guess that's what they were.
The hinge plates don't have enough screw holes and the handles don't look like any bus ones I've ever seen. |

The guy has been pretty cool, he's looking to see if he has any replacement windows. Are barn door windows bigger buy any chance? |

No. Improvements were made to make glass larger. |

Obviously not from someone who had ever been around split buses, I hope. Thing or kit car guy? Those latches don't look at all VW to me. Rather irresponsible- hope he comes through with the goods- or cash. _________________

So just to fill everyone in, I got the guy to give me a refund but now that I paid to ship these unknown pop out back to him, and sent him the tracking info, he refuses to contact me back. Figures! I don't remember his username here, but I do have his zip code, email, phone number and first name, how do I go about posting bad feed back and figuring out who he is. He is saying that i should have been more educated and I knew what I was getting and all. The windows were simply not what they were sold as, and it is my fault? I tried to find his username, but I was having a hard time doing a username search. I'd atleast like to make it that no one gets screwed by this person. This has been going on for atleast 4 weeks now. |

Go to your Profile/Control Panel on the left side under Classifieds there is a Emailed Ads click that, his ad should be in there.
Hope that helps. |

This ^
Late to the party with the identification, but for what it's worth, I (randomly) got to see an early 60's "E" the other day and the latch looked identical. Bummer about your issues with the send-back. |
