				| So it seems that myself and another samba member have early split dash speedometers missing the drive gear for the odometer. Anyone know a source for these or if a later speedo has the same gear in it? Thanks!!

Which drive gear and kind of speedo do you mean? Pic?

My 8´49 speedo odometer last year didn´t like to switch from 69 999 km to 70 000. When I had opened it, I saw all gears were OK. The problem was, one metal drive wheel slipped on the drive shaft. Cleaned it and glued it on. Today 70 731 km. With luck the odometer can get repaired without new gears. No guarantee!

				| From 50splitman who is looking for the same part as me. Mine is a June of 52 deluxe. This is the part we both need.

I assume you have speedo in miles.
With luck inner parts from a later speedo will fit, but I´m not sure.
You can´t mix km and miles. The "Wegdrehzahl" must be the same, but I´m afraid, speedos for 16´cars will have a different wegdrehzal, as 15´zwitter onwards.
Maybe you find a cheap newer speedo for testing.
 Good luck.

				| Ya mine is in miles. I didn’t think about that being different. Thanks for pointing that out. Might be more difficult to find in miles vs kilometers unfortunately. _________________

				| Ah, I also didn’t think of that, great point. I have 2 speedometers, one in miles and one in KM. For some unknown reason, this part is missing in both of them. My priority is miles since that is what I have mounted in my 1950 Hoffman standard split. | |

				| Great idea - I just reached out via the Samba to Ryan and I’ll see what he comes back with. Thx | |

				| Quick note - he doesn’t sell parts, so I’ve inquired about an overhaul of both of my speedometers. | |

				| I will be sending Ryan both of my speedometers to refurbish. He was quick to reply, and provided an estimated price and time to complete. | |
