How realistic is doing this? I have a 77 with good motor, tranny, and some body rust.
Not so bad
The bad= frame has rusted off in spots.
I found a rolling shell that seems to have rust in all of the spots mine doesn't, the frame seems to be rust free, My wife had the idea to cut the body off of my frame and use the frame off the 76 rolling shell. Which is my preference
Has anyone ever done this?
My brother says he knows a welding whiz that loves to help people out. _________________ "My shovel is sharp, my pick is sharp, and my will is outstanding." - Rod Marinelli

| It is a unibody construction and there are about 1 million spot welds that hold the body to the frame |

anything is feasible with enough time and money. I wouldn't give up the rest of my life to accomplish such a feat but you might be willing to. You might want to get under one and take a look before pursuing this thread further. That will probably answer your question. _________________
