I searched but came up empty.
I would like to see a picture of a stock 67 battery tray with the strap and everything. I just bought an nos battery tray, but I have no idea how the battery straps down. When I replace it, I want it to look factory.
Thanks! _________________ '67 13 Window

There are no straps. A 67 clamps the battery from the base. On the back side there is an L-shaped clip, fixed in place like what you would see on a late bug pan. On the front side there is a removable galvanized clamp with a bolt going downward through it to clamp the battery in place. The bolt threads into a weldnut mounted to the underside of the tray. Come on by this week and check out the original tray and clamp in my 67 if you would like to take exact measurements. I think you have my number. I'll be on vacation until the 14 |

A photo would be really cool. My bus has remenants of a battery tray and fitted sheet of plywood. I'm waiting for the day when I see my battery go bouncing down the highway. _________________ Jerry

Thank you...that will work. I looked on the Failsure sited but couldn't find anything like this. I musta not looked hard enough.
Brian, where did you find that battery tray? I've never seen an NOS or any '67 specific trays advertised here on TheSamba. _________________ Jerry

One other thing about a 67 is the vertical piece at the forward edge of the tray where the tray meets the rear edge of the wheelwell. I presume that the intended purpose of the piece is to keep the battery from sliding forward, but what it really does is trap dust and crap that comes in the vents, where it accumulates, gets wet and rusts out. I had to patch mine. Here is a photo of the tray area of my bus. The clamp is not on because I am having it hot dip galvanized. I can take another one with the battery out if necessary.
The battery strap is just sitting there as the bus is apart at the current time.
And yes Dave, all my hardware is original Kamax, re-plated!

Alarm trigger. Pinswitch is mounted underneath the hatch seal so the switch opens when the seal is compressed by the decklid. From that angle you can see it if you know what to look for. I do have a locking handle as well. |

Ronnie I'll probably be getting one for the wrecked '67 Westy. Here's a shot of the '67s battery area. It's been coated with epoxy and red oxide primer a couple times to stop the acid.
Here's the battery bracket.
Here's the battery holddown. Notice the bolt has a self cutting tip. It's missing a washer I think.

Ronnie, do you have prices for the tray? Does it come with the part "82" from the drawing?
I also need to get prices on a passenger side rocker which would include the outer, the inner-inner and the inner rocker for my '67, please. _________________ Jerry

I am curently on my 1st family Vacation in 15 years (closed till July 10th). Off the top of my head the cargo door rocker and strethener are 885 dollars, the 67 only battery tray I believe between 80 and 90. It does nnot come with the clamp but that is a very common item and if I took a magnet in the yard behind my shop 'd probaly find some _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Here you go, i think its runs from mid 66 -67. as i have did a couple 66 with this style tray.
battery tray $85.00, I have 1 in stock.
also the rocker cost is
outer and strengther $85.00
outer, strenghter, inner rocker $120.00 that $5.00 discount by buying all 3 pcs at once. _________________ http://s461.photobucket.com/albums/qq335/Metalwizard/
