The tank looks huge. Just a funny idea I had. Would It fit? Anyone have measurements.
Wanted the bus depot big tank but they sold out.

| Turbo transporter did it. It wasn't under the van at the time as it was removed for a coating of bedliner, but he said it fit after making brackeds for it but you do lose some ground clearance. |

Sad as it seems... I'm still doing it... I've been focused on getting the Transporter back together since the repaint and it's slow going because I just can't bring myself to reuse all the old rubber, rusty bolts and such. Of course I'm runing new speaker wires, cleaning all the electrical connections and adding a very loud airhorn. I'm really quite sick Here's a tip: The dash goes in much easier with no windshield!
Here's a thread regarding this LARGE Bus Depot propane tank.

I'm hoping to get my tank mounted next week as my co-pilot wants the Propex operational for camping the following weekend. Uhhg. That means I'm doing an aux battery system too. Busy, busy.... |

Got 'er done
My ground clearance to the skid plate is now 7" (2WD 87' Westy Weekender)
I also got my Propex running. Toasty!

...vs. 10.25" on my 84 Westy with the stock tank. Really depends on your driving & camping priorities. |

Agreed. I understand why some folks have ground clearance concerns BUT I really don't go off-roading with my 2WD Westy.
My co-pilot/camping partner does marathons, trail runs and bicycling events (in the Pacific North Wet) so HER "support van" needs to be warm and dry... (or I'll be miserable ) We also plan to ski/camp at Smoqualmie Pass and Whistler this winter and we're looking forward to returning to a warmish van at the end of the day. |

Thank you for these comparative pictures.
Do you know the tank capacity of the BW bus?... this bus tank seems the perfect result for me. |
Unless I'm mistaken the tank in the upper left of the photo IS the Vanagon tank, the upper right may be the BW. |
