Hi Guys,
I'm going to swap out my old auto trans for a rebuilt. I have an '89 Vanagon with a 2.5 Subaru engine. I'm looking for someone in the Chicago area (north Illinois) to make the swap for me. I expect to have the rebuilt in about a month. Does anyone know of anyone I can call?

I had a shop replace mine (dead of winter)
But theyre in the south burbs

Whereabout in the south burbs and do they have Subaru conversion experience?

Midwest AutoSavers. Raffel rd Woodstock IL, for a Suburb shop. Darby and crew have been at the VW world for years. Drives a Vanagon, knows them well.
Chicago- European Auto LTD, on Lincoln Ave , basically at Addison and Lincoln- they have Vanagon experience if the same Techs are still working there and not retired .
There was a VW place in Glenview , not sure if they were only Aircooled and are still there.

Place in Elburn does Subaru conversions. I don't know anything more about them.
