Hi Guys

Did not want to bore you with all the details of my Fastback Resto Project, but I am at the end and it went out for its 1st spin.

Here is my Aircooledvwsa post.

Well guys, its been a year, and then some, the S^*t hit the fan a few times, other times things went very well, BUT at last the Fastback is on the road, and driving well.

Went on the 1st outing today, for a 80 Km round trip breakfast, Ran like a dream, what a feeling to run the thing that you have worked on for so many hours, man this was great. Very Happy Very Happy

For the guys with 20/20 vision, (HR) you will find that the back storage compartment is still awaiting the carpets, the arm rests still await the arrival of the rest pillows from the Upholsterer. Also the under dash cover, Yes, they do not come out with them, but mine will have a white one, with a parcel shelf, ( note to Santa.....)

Well here goes, the Photos of the (more or less) completed 1968 Fastback Very Happy

Car looks good...you know, for a Fastback.

Is it metal flake paint or do you have faerie dust on the car in the one photo?

It's a compliment, they make nice front spoilers and my parcel shelf is a Kamei (I have only seen pics of a 1 or 2 other ones) http://www.kamei.co.uk/car-styling/ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/search.php?...ton=Search

That's what I was thinking too. Either they're getting finished up, or some are just getting started. Looks good Herman. Maybe we should take Sue's Fastback to the Invasion instead. Wink Naw, we going in the t-34. Cool

Thanks guys, your comments mean a lot to me, as the car would not have looked this good without your postings, every thing helped, thanks again.
And for those that do not like Fastbacks, it because you do not have one, should you ever drive in one, you will be spoilt for life, and dump the other type 3's........ Laughing Laughing
We Fastback guys, never comment on other type 3's, as we feel sorry for those that are deprived....... Rolling Eyes

Wink

Tram, thanks, and now its your turn to "Show and Tell"

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Oh well, at least there are still some Square's out there for part donors. Wink

Hey bad to hear you going under the knife again Tram.
Trust it will go well, and that its finally fixed.
Else you need to train the seat-cover to do the projects, and sit with beer in the Directors chair.
All the best bud.
