I dont know if there's already a post for a that but I haven't found it. I tought it would be a great idea to compare the quality of the same part from different seller. Keep in mind my intention are not to wine or discredit a store but more to help people know in advance what there buying. I bought a lot of parts from isp west and I'm really happy with their great service, but since I'm living in Canada cip1 is way cheaper, and I receive the parts at my door step. I don't care paying more when the quality is better.
It's hard to tell from that picture but Isp west is perfect, the rubber is firm.
Cip1 really disappoint, rubber is saggy/supple.
I haven't installed those yet, I wan't to do a water leak test later...
Isp is supple satin rubber but has imperfection with the finish
Cip1 is hard glossy almost plastic

That's why it pays to shop around. Yes, ISP is known for high quality parts (and prices), but, IF you know what you're buying, you can get the same quality parts elsewhere (as long as they interchange with a bug). Type 3 only parts are harder to find, but they are out there.
You really just have to pay attention to what you're buying, when ordering from CIP. Unfortunately, you're in Canada, which kind of limits you on buying stuff due to added taxes and customs fees, or getting it from the other side of the country (west coast of Canada for you). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I think this is a pretty good idea as long as it is done appropriately. I bought a lot of parts for my restoration and it would have been very helpful when I had a choice knowing the differences. As Bob said, unfortunately with type 3 cars sometimes there is only one source.
Interesting on the door handle seal. I got the ISP ones and I also noticed that the larger piece was very rubbery compared to my original which was more like plastic. The small piece was more like plastic and like my original. I did not like the rubbery piece and ended up using my original piece that was in good condition. |

The door handle seals from iSP are OEM Brazilian. If you look closely there is a part # and VW/Audi logo. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red
