Silly question but I am buying one and curious if I will be able to charge my cell phone from a cigarette lighter. The gal I am buying it from does not know if it has one. Is this standard equipment in a bay bus from 1976? It is a Westy Camper. Thanks, tj

Not standard on any bus as far as I am aware. All were dealer installed although most westies have "the 12 volt silver socket" from the factory.

it may have a silver socket, but it wouldn't have a cigarette lighter as standard equipment.

Well then hot diggity dog. Looks like mine has one. The gal I am getting it from said it did not but she was probably looking for a normal lighter unit like in USA. I happen to already have an adapter as I purchased from someone in the Thing forum that went to Germany a dash extend a light and it came with the adapter. It was for my Thing and 1982 Diesel Westy when I had the diesel. I held onto the adapter figuring I would use that on my Thing one day.

So, I should be good then. Cool!

I suspect that littler silver hole right side below glove box is the euro plug hole that my adapter will plug into.

I highly doubt that, but it would be a good laugh! Rolling Eyes
