Still kicking myself....

I was putting the rear bearing housing back on the bus last night and thought I could save time by keeping the stub axle connected to the half axle and then tighten the axle nut to "press" the stub axle into the new races.

Well, the stub axle wasn't quite centered apparently and it destroyed the outer bearing -- the rollers were pulled out of the inner race. Made a nice "crunch" noise and I knew it right when it happened.

So..lesson learned.....and back to square 1.

I can hear my mom in the background "Shortcuts get you no where Andrew!"

I didn't disconnect the battery once and then spent 1.5 hours chasing down the fuses that had blown. Embarassed

yeah... the shortcuts that make a mess...

AND the DIY that end up costing more than giving the job to the mechanic..

but the fun is there isn't it?

Very Happy
