Here is something that I have done that works, although it was a different vehicle. A buddy and I used to specialize in pulling out the damaged noses of Bugs with out replacing the apron. He had two huge elm trees in his front yard. We would park the car in between them with as much sheetmetal removed as necessary; i.e. hood, fenders, bumper and, sometimes, the gas tank. If we were replacing the hood we would install the new one. We welded up a heavy duty fixture which bolted to the front bumper mounts and one which attached to the rear frame horns. A chain at the rear was secured to the tree. The front fixture was anchored to the other tree by a come-a-long. Slowly, tension was applied to the front. When metal is under tension, bumping the high spots is much more effective. Constant tension was maintained while working the metal back into place. Often, there was no trace at all that the accident had occured.
You could find a solid place to mount a come-a-long to. Use some ViceGrip pliers with a ring bolt replacing the adjustment nut and clamp them to the lip of the nose. Make sure you pull in the opposite direction that the crease/dent was inflicted using the come-a-long SECURELY mounted to something that won't rip out!. As you are pulling on it tap the high spots with the appropriate body hammer or whatever. It looks like your floor is buckled as well, and this will work on that too. If you get everything setup to work in reverse, it is like magic as the damage starts to move.
Some of the Port-a-power kits available have the seam clamp included to attach to the nose lip. It would work better than ViseGrips. Good Luck! _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

Ill go ahead and post what im doing to repair the pillar, nose. I need alot of encouragements to get this done. ok folks this is a long one.... The plan is to fix pillar A and the nose and floor before winter/snow comes.
nose skin cut off. Not exactly done yet. i need to take the remaining nose skin off the bottom half of headlight bucket.
floor removed to see farther damage to pillar
decided to cut part of the pillar
other view
inside view... Working with porta power to hoping that it will push it out but instead the pillar gets crushed so the bottom will come out.
I have been measuring and measuring comparing drivers side to passenger to see how to fix this.... best solution to this problem is to measure from top left corner of the door to bottom right corner of the dogleg/pillar. I felt that my bus was damaged so much i couldnt trust the measurement i was getting... Drivers side was 60 9/16'' and passenger side is 60 1/4''. So i headed to a friends home and measured from his bus. His bus was alot more accurate. 60 5/8'' both sides. Meaning the passenger side is off by 3/8'' and drivers side is off by 1/16'' from long panel damage... _________________ 58 beetle AKA Black Beauty http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=496780&highlight=black+beauty

Update, pillar was beaten up pretty good causing me to not work on it anymore. I have a nose skin section coming on the way with A pillar and see what happens. If that doesnt work then i plan to buy A pillar from Klassic fab. Basically i focused on dogleg lower section because it was wrinkled and rusty in some areas.
I didnt take much pics of the progress but i separated the dog leg in 2 pieces and fixed, straighten the wrinkled area. It is ready to be welded back on but yesterday was raining so i was bummed.
this one needs some work since it is curved. I need to straighten it up before i weld the dogleg back on.
I might go back and work on the top section because some of the metal is gone from rust. Other than that i just need to weld the bumper bracket on then its ready to go. _________________ 58 beetle AKA Black Beauty http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=496780&highlight=black+beauty

More updates.
Nose section arrived. It aint the prettiest donor but it will have to do.
bottom section will need work. I bought a new metal off thesamba just for the bottom piece and it is on the way.
back to the dogleg..
not my best fitting but it will have to do...
This section was hard to work with but i got it done for now
worked on the headlight bucket by removing the remaining metals
worked on the floor by cutting up the bad pan and test fit the new pan finding this to be a problem...
other surprise. Hard to see but the dogleg has been pushed in slightly so i pushed it back in place.
so i test fitted the pan and it still not straight with the floor pan. I figured that since i will get the pillar it will help get everything in place. For this situation i will need to use porta power to push everything in place and weld them up together and check the measurements. This is why i havent gotten to the point to weld the parts solid. _________________ 58 beetle AKA Black Beauty http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=496780&highlight=black+beauty

finally an update. I was going nuts during winter not having anything done on the pillar…
Can you tell i was one determined guy?
The fit is ok just that Klassicfab metal turn out to be smaller than OG so i had to shrink the OG to make it work. Other thing is that there is no hole for the door stopper so i will need to create the hole and install/weld the stopper on. I really do like the quality of the metal but not very impressed with how far off it was from OG pillar should look. However I'm just gonna move on and finish this up
welded on. Sorry about my crappy phone pics. I do have a camera but i forgot to bring it with me since the bus is 1 hr away from me.

Save yourself some time & hang that door before you lock that pillar in place with the headlight support & inner valence.
This method is a must for lower dogleg & front floor patches as well.
Keep up the good work! _________________ Looking for SO34 parts.
