A little background picked up a fiberglass buggy and am back int vw after a long hiatus. I have been slowly fixing some issues from the previous owner and am having the 34 pict blues. The car runs rich all the time just rebuilt the carb and made sure the ports were all open. carb has a 132 main in it and is a no name carb with only 34 pict 3 printed on the side. the valves are good and it dose have a 009 set at 32 total I have no flat spot issues. with both screws set at 2.5 turns out it will run but black smoke city and will start to miss from fouling. (has new Bosch wires cap and rotors as well as ngk b5hs plugs) runs better and cleaner with mixture screw seated and big screw out 6 turns but still smokes a lot. the only way I can get it to run reasonably well is to induce a vac leak by pulling the vac cap off the long vac port. then it runs pretty good and drives ok. It still will load up and miss on decell. I ordered a 130 main and re opened the bleed hole on the butterfly that was previously soderd shut. also the acc pump is set on max.

motor run down
1600dp
009 with pictronic set at 32 total
1 1/2 merged exhaust.
no name 34 pict 3 with 132 main fresh rebuild (poss C.A. carb has daspot)
fallowed vw-resorce guid

buy a new 55 idle and 125 main and put them in and adjust. See how it works out.
