2 buggies ride on one off tube chassis' and there's a HIGHLY modified IRS pan under the Oval. All built at home.
Everyone has their own set of skills and calling out people about them is poor form. You design and form bodies for a living so you have the skills and training to do something like this. I do things in my professional life you can't do, but I would never call you out on it. It would just come off as condescending and petty.
I appreciate the work put into the body on the Stark. It's just not my taste and like so many kit car designs over the decades didn't have the appeal to become successful. |

I build existing buggies. I've done some pretty extensive glass repairs. I have some boatbuilding in my background too. Having done glass work it mostly makes me want to become a better sheet metal welder.
That said, and as much as I like that pickup buggy with a roof, I have to agree with Slalombuggy. Rare doesn't equal value (it's the intersection of rare and desirable) and I suspect that the closed top buggy market is pretty limited.
I see other issues too. One is that your fenders won't qualify in most states requiring them. The other is the cost and complexity of making your own doors. For the home builder using some readily available existing door, perhaps with a new glass skin, would broaden appeal.
I wish you the best and I like your creation. I like my existing buggy with a known desirability more. Since I'm not Jay Leno collecting every buggy I like cannot happen. _________________

Rare doesn't equal higher prices or even collector car status. Personally I think it's going to sell fairly cheap. It really isn't a buggy, it's not a sporty kit car, and it's hit or miss styling resembles a Honda Ridgeline with less power and space. It's an oddball. The fact that no one was willing to stop up and buy one a few years ago, I think says it all. |

Quick update:
The claim from Rob DeWolf is that after the second car was built, the molds were only "temporary" only good for two cars.
From the pictures over the years, it appears they had both a male plug and female molds for the body. Its hard to believe they were only "temporary." Maybe the molds no longer exist to drive up the auction price???
Here is the Facebook post that I quoted back in 2013 from the builder:
"Rob and I think we need to sell the first 5 bodies to people who are willing to pay in full 10k each, this will fund our tooling cost. These collector cars will be worth a lot in the future for those who are willing to take a chance on us. Anyone in ?" |

The first car is now up at auction:

The interior needs some attention:
From the builder's Instagram page from 4 years ago, the car with a camper shell. In the auction pictures, the shell is rough, but included:

Why no pics with a full sized person sitting in the thing ? In WAY too many kit cars the designer worries more about aesthetics and proportion than about functionality i.e. headroom. I found this picture. It looks good to me.

I also noticed the pictures at the start of this thread are dead from the old Facebook links. I added everything I had in my computer into the gallery.

I seem to recall the suggest price for body 'kit' being close to $10k plus?
