Are you talking about the threaded bit, inside the knob?
No, not the same.
Which reminds me of the sweet Hurst shift knob I've got out in the garage....
Anybody know what size the threads are on the top of the shifter? _________________ 1987 GL Sunroof

Bitchin. Thanks dood, and love the bigfoot gas pedal on your ride, didn't think those would fit a Vanagon. Now I gotta have one! _________________ 1987 GL Sunroof

If there is enough space in there to store a squirrels head it might be worth $ 45.00 otherwise its a waste of money. |

Yeah I liked it too, but you know it cost them about $2.00 from China. It would be neat if it was deep enough to hold a spare key. _________________ '82 Vanagon GL with 2.0 4-speed. Long term plan is to turn it into a camper. |

I saved a similar knob with the Wolfsburg crest from my old Beetle in the event that I ever bought another VW that it would work on. Little did I know that 20 years later I would purchase... an automatic Vanagon.
Try the air-cooled parts suppliers. _________________ '91 Westfalia GL Automatic (GTA "Turbo" Rebuild w/Peloquin) and 2.3L GoWesty Engine |

Here is my favorite......
I took an '84 GTi golf ball knob and a used casting resin to inlay a pin from a 1920's Flint car. |
