|
|
I’ve been on this forum for about 10 years and I’ve looked for paints to match the Neptune Blue L50 K on my 1978 Camper bus.
I have some Krylon paint that is pretty close that someone recommended about 10 years ago. I’ve been using it for touch ups. But I was wondering if anyone had mixed different shades of Rustoleum to get a closer shade of blue to the original. I’m almost out of Krylon and I’m planning to mix some Rustoleum to see if I can do it. But if some one has already done it, why reinvent the wheel? I’ve combed the threads but don’t see it in here.
Thanks.😎 _________________ If you only have one tool in your tool box, and it's a hammer, pretty soon, everything looks like it needs to be whacked!

Check out your local Napa, Autozone, O'Reilly's or similar auto parts stores near you as some have a paint matching program that they scan a piece that you bring in and they make you up a few rattle cans.
They couldn't match my custom green perfectly but identified a colour (Grabber Green) that was close. More traditional colours seemed to be more readily available. _________________ *******************************

our local auto shop will mix anything from spray cans to gallons, to touch up bottles. They could just come to the parking lot and scan different areas on the bus.
I lucked into a color match for Ruby red once, I was at the bottom of a can of zero rust primer red and mixed it with the standard red and got a match for my 65 so I touched up a bunch of spots and it was bang on. Now 12 years later, the stock color has faded more than the touchups. _________________ 1973 super 2110cc
