Are these original steele crankshaft pulleys universal for caruberator and fuel engines or are these special ones for each engine? My question is more in the order to know if there is a difference in the timing marks because I got a pulley from a fuel engine and my carb engine and now Im having problems with the timing.

If you are using a FI pulley, the V mark is 5* ATDC

and the Dimple (to the right of that V) is TDC.

So thats why your having problems with timing. other than that its a Good pulley to use.

Find the TDC dimple.

then use the below printout, and find 30* BTDC (to the right) of TDC.

Make a mark on your pulley for that spot.

Then, to time your engine:

009- rev the engine to 3500 rpm. Keep it there. Set the timing with the split in the case to your newly added 30 BTDC* mark.

SVDA- disconnect and plug the vac line. rev to 3500 and keep it there.
Set the timing to your newly added 30 BTDC mark.

re-connect the vac hose and your done.

there is no difference (size wise) between a FI and a carb pulley. Only the timing notches.

Unless you look for a older 36HP pulley (they are smaller) you would know as the belt would be way too loose.

ill see if i can find some photos.
