Could have been a lot worse. Was probably on his cell phone.

Doesn't encourage one to drive a nice, vintage car.

This is the 2nd time my Bus has been rear ended while stopped in traffic and the 3rd time it's been rear ended (was parked).

This could have been a lot worse. My wife was driving our two sons, both in car seats, years ago and was rear ended while making a left turn. Our bus was still drivable but needed a lot of work. My wife received some whiplash. Count your lucky stars.

Sorry to see that! I wonder if the rarity of good used rear bumpers compared to front proves that bus drivers are a little more cautious driver's than the average motorist?

Same thing happened to me years ago in my '70 Westy, but on the driver's side. The guy who caused it spilled the beer he had between his legs all over his lap. Mad

Yeah I was like "WTF?!?" but I decided not to yell at the guy. Had the damage been worse I have no doubt I would have become enraged.

He is, ironically, a "dent pro" guy so I gave him the bumper and the bracket and he says he'll get it repaired this week. Regarding the body damage it'll go in for a re-spray.

I've found being ice cold quiet can be effective.

Anyway the muffler looks to be okay as do the connections. Thing is the last time the Bus was hit it was a total bitch finding that bumper and getting it straightened out.

At any rate, I have his info and if this doesn't get resolved to my satisfaction this week I'll just file a claim with his insurance company.

How do you miss a frickin' 6 foot tall orange and white car stopped in front of you?

Dude,
Another time my wife was driving the bus and a 15 year old little girl with her Mom and a learners permit came through a neighborhood and blew over two speed bumps and through a stop sign before smacking into my bus. She looked about 12. That one was about $3500 in damage.

I don't know maybe 10 mph? My strategy when in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the freeway is to allow plenty of room for the car in front of me so I can very slowly stop and not get rear ended. That's what I did here and was, in fact, stopped for about 1 second before getting whacked.

As I said... it could have been much worse. Trying to find another one of those metal bits that goes in front of the engine but behind the bumper is hard as hell. I have a spare in my kitchen.

Irony of ironies is I was driving my Bus to the shop to get some work done and, once it got there, they didn't have the right part so nothing got done meaning it was all for naught.

I do the same, but when I see a tailgater I move to the next available lane or ridiculously slow down until that car gets the idea.
