Newbie here, 1970 baywindow bus. I’m in the process of taking out the gas tank on my 1970 bus that’s been sitting for almost 30 years. I’m having a really hard time getting the gas filler tube connection off of the gas tank so that I can pull it out, it’s really stuck on. Any suggestions? Would it be OK if I cut it off? See picture below to see where it is sticking. Thanks

It's probably stuck on some rust, if you fight with it enough it will come loose

I’ve been fighting with it like crazy and it just won’t budge. Is there something I can spray on it or would cutting it off be OK?

Saws all or hack saw it. Careful you don't cut metal.

Install it with some "spa lube" or other hi-temp silicone grease to keep it a little slippery.

I had good luck using a tire iron. I used a small piece of plywood against the tank so it wouldn't dent and used a long tire iron to pry the hose off.

loosen up the clamp on the right.

spray both ends with kroil or pb blaster. wait. spray again.

twist and shout.

i wouldn’t cut it until i’d confirmed i could get a replacement.

A hose hook is handy there, get under the edge and work your way around to unstick it:

Unbolt and remove the filler neck from around the gas cap, everything's easier when it's out of the way.

That was the key, I was able to get it off. Thanks for the advice.
