That look on your face and sense of urgency you get after the awards are announced at the show you are attending. Realizing that pile of crap, T1 front beamed, rotted out, patina'd, bug motor havin, notchback that came with the Bus Club, just one first over several immaculate, nicely restored Type 3's.

Would a photo from 1983 qualify as "vintage"? I'll try. This was a 1500 S Notchback at a classic car show in Hamburg, Germany in June 1983. It was my last month working at VW's tech center in Wolfsburg before quitting and relocating back to New York. Note the accessory overrider "towel bars", auxiliary round reverse lights under the trunklid, and the '67 Beetle-style single reverse lamp under the bumper. License plate "HH" stands for Hansestadt Hamburg, being one of the 3 Hanseatic port cities from the Middle Ages.

So that's what my 66 Square (1st VW I bought) was supposed to look like when it was brand new. A beautiful car back then. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Looks like it has early fat window molding in the rear window. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red
