My master cylinder is leaking around the rubber resevoir grommets, especially when the temp is cold outside. The master cylinder was replaced by the previous owner. I was just going to replace the grommets, but I was thinking if it is a non german master cylinder that maybe it should be replaced also. There is no brand on the master cylinder. Is there a way to tell if it is an oem german master cylinder? Thanks

If there is no brand name on a part you can almost guarantee that its
a bunch of junk from China.

You may be able to stop this leak just by working the rubber seal
a bit. Sometimes I found the seal has a vary small amount of dirt, that
casues a leak, or just does not set. Poke at the seal all around with a
blunt screwdriver. ITs an easy fix most of the time.

I am in the process of changing mine. I found a VW 10" booster over here. Has a VW part number on it and everything! Plus, while the dash is out, I'll be swapping out the blower fan.
