I have a 62 bug, transmission is not original I am not sure if it's German, Brazilian or Mexico I have a leak at the rear seal but as I took off the the throw out bearing there is a solid shaft no bolts to take it out. How the heck do I take that shaft out to Chang the rear seal. |

You leave it in place and dig out the seal around it without damaging the surface of the shaft or the bore in the case.
One way is to get a couple of wood screws and screw them into the seal. Then you can pull on the heads of the screws.
To install the new seal, find a piece of tubing or pipe the right diameter and tap it in. _________________

I have just used a large flat screw driver to pop them out. _________________ Rick
