I have 2 turn signal switches and can’t get either of them to stay tight on the column. Am I missing something here? Once I tighten both of the housing screws I can just move it around on the column tube. Any ideas

My '62 has a set screw to make final adjustment when the steering wheel is on. The steering wheel and signal switch have to be a certain distance apart for the selfcancel to work. you can see the set screw in this photo of my bug.

I’ve had this issue with a bus before, the mounting is the same. I used a small piece of foam insulation to take up the space. I used the window insulation that’s sticky on one side. I cut like a 2” long piece and stuck it on the left side of the column, then put the switch on. Worked great for years without any issues. I’ve since sold that bus.
