Was it the one for a flipped Passat transmission? I remember seeing that but can't recall any other info.
Edit: I got a ton of hits on Google for homemade engine adapter

I remember when I saw it that I was blown away by the resorcefulness of the mechanic.
I fail to remember where but it was in some non first World Nation.

We/I would obsess over exact mounting and hole locations as I made it shooting for tolerences within 1,000th's of an inch and worry about it not being dead on centered.

Here was some guy who needed an engine, found one, now he needed an adapter plate, he had an old wheel, a hole here, a cut there and Viola'! An adapter plate!

Off he drove!

I think it's Narendra in India. Not a fan of most of the finish but certainly one of my favorite ideas thread.

For the engine adapter plate, the one from the flipped Audi transmission was cut with a router, isn't it this one you're thinking of?

I thought it was pretty cool too.

Rubbachicken: what about rail buggy builds?
I'd think some of those guys would've
made an adaptor plate. But ya, I too recall seeing a pic of an adaptor but IIRC, it was made of steel.

I know that electric car conversion threads have a ton of homemade adapters if you are looking for more ideas. Although the steel wheel adapter is just about one of my favorite adapters!!

Any idea on what engine it was mating to? I don't remember how the V6 Buick engine was attached...
