Hello Guys. We are about to restore/rebuild our 69 Kombi. It comes from Condobolin, so its pretty good with rust. Its had a rear end smash at one stage and there is alot of bog thanks to this. The nose cone has been replaced at some stage aswell as its a hi light front. We picked her up already stripped, so lots of stuff is missing. Its not going to be a quick project as I already have a lot of commitments, but I will update as we go. |

Find a big stump and some body tools - 16 ga sheet steel and be sure to ask some help here-- (not necessarily that last bit) sounds like a lot of fun-

You may have better luck with the identification by contacting the kombi club in Oz. They where mentioned in the other thread you posted about the M-Plate not being there.
Good luck

Got the Kombi out today and hit it with the gurney. All the windows have no rust. A little bit in the front lower steps and the lower front apron. The headlight buckets are rusted through. The section above the engine cover is no good either. The roof is a little damaged, i was told a tree fell on it. |

Okay. Well, it looks a lot cleaner than some we've seen. And a Scoobaroo on top. Check out the Butty's bits for a better linkage for the gas pedal. lookin' forward to this build! luck. _________________ '72 Elm Green Deluxe |

I sure hope you disconnected the transmission to the shift rod, else you have a pretty bent shift rod. _________________ Wash your hands

You need to put a strap on the transmission to support it. Right now it is resting on the shift coupler. This can bend the coupler, shifter shaft, trans gear selector shaft.
bent coupler on the right
Good luck

Its been awhile. I finally turned the bus around in the garage. Went to remove the cv joints/shafts to remove the gear box. The heads of the bolts are solid with red dirt. Ive given them a good soak, so ill let it sit till i get another chance. Got the engine mount adapters from Subarugears. Want to get the motor and auto conversion done now |
