Hi. I would like to see how you all have installed your aftermarket gauges? I am in the process of deciding if I want to cut into the dash or mount them another way. I want a volt, tachometer and oil. BTW I am working on a 1973 convertible ghia.

Here's mine using the ISP West old skool gauges, with some autometer pods. Changed out the fuel to match the set.

I think is best to avoid hacking up the dash if you can.
I have volt, CHT, oil pressure, oil temp, tach, and still have my clock and fuel. I put two gauges behind the passenger seat. its easy to see at a glance.

You can see the gauges behind the seat...

914 VDO gauges including oil temp, oil pressure, Speedo, tachometer. the two Aux gauges below the dash are the original fuel gauge + a voltmeter.

I think if I had to drive and shift a RHD I would wrap it around a pole Laughing

Ideally I'd like to replace the non-functioning time clock with a stealth rev counter (like the ones by North Hollywood Speedometer that some Ghia owners have) and remove the existing Auto Meter one seen here.

I slid a Volvo (240 IIRC) 52mm VDO Tach into the clock hole.

I've posted this before, but here's my gauge setup.

Stock speedo and fuel gauge. Clock was converted into a 6k rpm tachometer by North Hollywood Speedometer.

Two 52 mm (2 1/16") VDO gauges mounted under the dash: a Series 1 (chrome bezel, white needle) oil pressure gauge and a Cockpit series CHT gauge that I had NHS convert to Series 1 look.

I'm just here to see the different dash treatments so I can decide on which way to go with mine.

While we're on the subject of gauges, has anyone tried those GPS speedos?

A) I was coasting downhill when I took that photo.
B) My Ghia has an electric motor.
C) I took the photo at the moment the speedo was calibrating.
D) None of the above.
E) All of the above.

This could be an option if you don't want to hack up your dash. It seems like it would not be difficult to reverse.

I just ordered the dash and console from them a couple of days ago. Way more options than the three gauges on my 71...
