While searching through Craigslist last night I came across a roof rack that had been posted over a month ago. I decided to give the guy a call this morning and sure enough, he still had it. Drove an hour and a half each way to get it. Looks old but I don't see any markings or brands.
Any idea what it is or from what era/period?

Testing the new shoes. Gotta get longer studs. Vintage, NOS, American Eagle USA made 15x7 rims. My brother found them on Craigslist for cheap and we traded.

The one tire was from the spare, that's a 185/65/15. The other tires are 175/65/15. I'm not sure what size to run. I like the look of the beefier rear wheel/tire so I may run a 205/65/15 in the rear and a 175/65/15 in front.
Thanks! _________________ **1971 Super Project

It's a 10 footer. The paintjob looks like a Maaco special Buuuut for $900 and no rust, specially in the North East, I can't complain _________________ **1971 Super Project

Awesome man. I love my 1302, I'm sure you'll love yours too.
Mine had the Super Beetle Shimmy something fierce. I found all my ball joints on the tie rods were shot, the main ball joints were loose but decent, rubber bushings all blown out, steering idler was sloppy, and the steering box was absolutely spent. Been rebuilding the whole car mechanically over the last few years, all that's left is engine and transmission. Brakes, steering, suspension, all new.
If you're planning to go the long haul, I'd recommend for you to do the same. The car now drives as good as anything modern I've been in.
I'm also slammed and added a rear sway bar though. _________________ Just call me Big D. (formerly xBigDx408x)

Yup, I went through that. I replaced the center link, tie rods, steering damper and bushing. It went from a crazy shake at 36mph to a comfortable ride. _________________ **1971 Super Project

Awesome build man. Cant wait till I get to the point where I'm just troubleshooting minor things and adjusting the valves.
I really like those wheels too. Do you have a whole car side profile shot with them? |

Not yet. I need to get longer wheel studs for them. I'll be sure to post a pic when they are on. _________________ **1971 Super Project

This is a "Thank You" post for fellow member Buggeee.
After posting about installing wider wheels on my car and trying to figure out a way to make the look work, he offered me free widened fiberglass fenders. At the same time I saw his post regarding a need for a DVDA distributor and it just so happens I had bought one that same day. Well, a few text messages later and we finally met in person for the swap.
Super cool person and Sambanite!!!
Thanks for the fenders. I think they will work great on the Super.
Hope the DVDA distributor works for you
Never been mounted More in-depth post coming soon.

With the new wheels and the new flared fenders, I'm thinking of going with an '80's look. Here are some simple mock-ups of the ideas running in my head.
Knowing that matching the yellow paint may not be possible, I was thinking of painting the front fenders white and adding the side design with a decal, since I own a vinyl cutter.
What y'all think?
