Working on putting in an O2 sensor so my new ECU gets used to it's fullest capacity and a couple of things have me stalled.
I need switched power and my best source is to tap that blue wire, in the junction box:
I know Scotch-locs are held in low regard. I think they're OK in some cases, like accessories, but I don't think I want one here. Would you make a splitter with spade terminals and pull power that way? Never occurred to me while I was looking at it but it seems like a reasonable idea.
Once that's sorted, I can get started on the ECU project itself…
And here you see where my air intake/filter was stuffed (ignore those crimps: if I solve this problem they will be cleaned up as well):
Not sure how I could ever change the filter, given the A/C lines running across there and the tight fit of the fuel system. Assuming I can extricate it from there, can it be moved to the other side of the engine compartment or does it rely on that vent in the D pillar? _________________ Currently -> Frida: 87 Tizian Red (mostly) Vanagon GL Westfalia w/ 2.0L ABA conversion

| I know zip-all about Tiicos -- but if the switched power is for the heating element in the O2 sensor I would probably just get it from the coil. |

The coil it is…an easily accessed switched power lug was staring me in the face. _________________ Currently -> Frida: 87 Tizian Red (mostly) Vanagon GL Westfalia w/ 2.0L ABA conversion
