Its simple... Remove rubber mount parts and replace with solid mount parts.... Its a one for one swap out....

I would use the stock front !! Use a Mid-mount or a trans strap, Or you WILL break front nose cones!!! Madmike _________________ 'Black Ice'Drag Buggy 'Turbo'

Thought that was what the trans strap that comes in solid mount kit was for... To keep from breaking bolts out of nosecone mount then breaking nosecone itself....

hmmm the kit i have is one large zinc coated ( yellow and rainbowy ) back mount piece
and one small rectangular front mount piece.
It's a stock 1600dp going to a Thing trans axle.
should i use the front piece or not? I'm trying to stop the engine from dancing around when its warming up. |

Full kit with both trans straps....
http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC10%2D4780
Smaller strap goes over "hump" area on front of transaxle to keep it front tilting up and breaking nose cone...
Many run without it.... IF you are going "rough and tumble" I would use all four straps....
But on using solid mounts, its ALL or nothing... IF one end of trans is solid and other is on rubber, something is going to break (most likely end that is solid mounted).
You can always make straps ... Back is just 3/16 x 1 inch strap iron... The front strap is same thickness but a little wider....

leaving the front or changing really depens on your exact year of pan and tranny _________________ Dub Infested- PART WI$H LI$T-CLICK |

I got a bucpack bust to bug solid mount kit. I was debating using the mid mount strap but decide to go ahead and use it. They recommend drilling through the frame horns amnd using the long bolts that come in the kit. I don't like the idea of drilling, but I will go ahead and do it. |

its a 74 transaxle,
anyways what hardware goes in place of the stock urethane pieces with studs?
this kit really is useless... trying to have the engine back in today.
will grade 8 hardware suffice? (if i can find the right size) |

Think change is at "70'... My 69 pan is old style...
On buddys buggy we changed nosecones to older model, and welded tab on old style solid front mount to fit "studs" on late pan for my buddies buggy....

Here is my quiet mount T1 kit.
This here is obviously wrong to anyone who's ever had clutch chatter caused by a bowden tube that wasn't properly bowed.
This is after I corrected it and added some spacers. The tube was too short because the car was set up for a bus tranny. Whoever swapped in the T1 didn't bother with the details.
They even forgot the bellhousing strap. I never noticed any problems.

I think the accel. tube should be out of the trans strap. Is it just me or is that a crack in your trans next to the end of the bowden tube. Other wise it looks good. _________________ Throw me a bone here. All I wanted were
