				| I'm looking for a metal old school dash for my 74 ghia. At present it has some sort of metal dash with the castle logo but no glove box. Can you fit an older metal Dashboard into a 1974 that had the plastic dash? Where can you get the metal dashboards? Thanks! | |

				| The dash board is a single stamping. It is spot welded to the lower window lip, bottom rear of the trunk and the A pillars. Un pick the spot welds and you can remove the currently installed dash. Then you do the same for a dash from a wrecked Ghia, one that has no redeemable prospects. You then spot weld the old dash in place of the old one. It is a significant about of work but it will look fabulous

				| Can you post pictures of your dash from the front and from the trunk side? It would be easier for people to give you correct advice. Replacing the dash is doable. My car is a 71. The previous owner removed the original dash and installed a 62 dash.

Here's what you have when the dash is removed.

Maybe your 74 still has it's original dash but with modifications? If so, you might be able to return it to original as far as the opening for the glove box. Then close up any holes used for pad installation and paint it to give it the older look.

				| What is your primary goal in having a metal dash?
If you are mostly concerned with having the look of the early style guages (one small guage flanked by two larger ones), then it would probably be easiest to cut out your old one and weld in another from an older donor Ghia.

If your OK with the look of the later style guages (one large guage flanked by two smaller ones) but really want the look of the clean painted metal surface across the face of the dash, then perhaps it may be easier to remove the plastic facia and have all the "extra" small holes/openings in your current dash welded shut and paint it.
